Since our beginning in 2014, our Global Medical Brigades Chapter has traveled to 2 countries: Honduras and Nicaragua. In the process, we have worked with local leaders in delivering medical care and developing public health initiatives to various communities and thousands of people.
More importantly, with each brigade and each new community we arrive in, we learn invaluable lessons about what it means to be a healthcare provider, and the humility that comes with working abroad.
To the people of Honduras and Nicaragua, who have generously welcomed us into their homes and allowed us to assist them at their most vulnerable, thank you for teaching us and giving us more than we could have possibly given you.
We hope that all our brigaders take something from each experience, no matter how small, and incorporate it into their daily lives.
